Kammerensemble is a classical music ensemble that was founded in 1990 in Germany. The ensemble is known for its exceptional performances of chamber music, which is a type of classical music that is composed for a small group of instruments, typically no more than ten. The founding members of Kammerensemble were all accomplished musicians who had previously played together in various other ensembles. They came together with the goal of creating a chamber music ensemble that would showcase their individual talents while also highlighting the beauty and complexity of chamber music. The main members of Kammerensemble are violinists Anna Maria Kaufmann and Johannes Schmidt, violist Martin Schuster, cellist Andreas Müller, and pianist Maria Schuster. Each member of the ensemble is a highly skilled musician with years of experience performing classical music. Over the years, Kammerensemble has performed at some of the most prestigious concert halls and music festivals in the world. Some of their most notable performances include appearances at the Salzburg Festival, the Lucerne Festival, and the Berlin Philharmonic. One of the highlights of Kammerensemble's career was their performance of Beethoven's String Quartet No. 14 in C-sharp minor, Op. 131 at the Salzburg Festival in 2005. This performance was widely praised by critics and audiences alike, and it cemented Kammerensemble's reputation as one of the finest chamber music ensembles in the world. In addition to their performances, Kammerensemble has also received numerous awards and accolades for their recordings. Their recording of Schubert's String Quintet in C major, D. 956 was awarded the prestigious Diapason d'Or in 2008, and their recording of Brahms' Piano Quintet in F minor, Op. 34 was named one of the best classical recordings of the year by Gramophone magazine in 2012.
