Kitty, Daisy & Lewis is a British three-piece band that specializes in playing a blend of rockabilly, swing, and blues music. The band consists of siblings Kitty, Daisy, and Lewis Durham, who were born and raised in London, England. The trio grew up in a musical family, with their father, Graeme Durham, being a guitarist and their mother, Ingrid Weiss, being a singer and songwriter. Kitty, Daisy & Lewis formed in 2005 when the siblings were still teenagers. They started playing music together in their family's living room, where they would experiment with different genres and instruments. The band's sound is heavily influenced by their parents' record collection, which includes classic rock and roll, blues, and swing music. The band's main members are Kitty Durham, who plays guitar, piano, and sings lead vocals; Daisy Durham, who plays drums, accordion, and sings backing vocals; and Lewis Durham, who plays guitar, harmonica, and sings lead and backing vocals. The siblings are all multi-instrumentalists and often switch instruments during their live performances. Kitty, Daisy & Lewis released their self-titled debut album in 2008, which was recorded in their family's home studio. The album received critical acclaim and was praised for its authentic sound and vintage feel. The band's second album, Smoking in Heaven, was released in 2011 and featured a more polished sound and a wider range of musical styles. The band has performed at numerous festivals and venues around the world, including Glastonbury, Coachella, and the Montreux Jazz Festival. They have also opened for artists such as Coldplay, Jools Holland, and Mark Ronson. Kitty, Daisy & Lewis has received several awards and nominations throughout their career. In 2009, they were nominated for the MOJO Breakthrough Act Award and the UK Festival Award for Best Breakthrough Act. They were also nominated for the BBC Radio 2 Folk Awards in 2012. In addition to their music career, the siblings have also appeared in several films and television shows. They made their acting debut in the 2010 film Tamara Drewe, directed by Stephen Frears. They also appeared in the television series Peaky Blinders, performing their song "Going Up the Country" in the show's second season. Kitty, Daisy & Lewis continues to tour and record music, with their most recent album, Superscope, being released in 2017. The band's unique sound and vintage style have earned them a dedicated fan base and critical acclaim, making them one of the most exciting and original acts in contemporary music.
