Oreste De Tommaso was a renowned Italian classical music artist who was born on January 1, 1927, in Naples, Italy. He was the youngest of six children and grew up in a family that was passionate about music. His father was a violinist, and his mother was a pianist, and they both encouraged their children to pursue music. De Tommaso began his musical training at a young age, studying piano and violin. He showed exceptional talent and was soon recognized as a prodigy. At the age of 12, he made his debut as a soloist with the Naples Philharmonic Orchestra, performing Mozart's Piano Concerto No. 23 in A major.
