John Holland-Avery was born on May 12, 1985, in London, England. He grew up in a family of musicians, with his mother being a pianist and his father a cellist. From a young age, John showed a keen interest in music and began playing the piano at the age of four. He later picked up the cello and the violin, and by the age of ten, he was already performing in public. John's talent was recognized early on, and he was accepted into the prestigious Yehudi Menuhin School in Surrey, England, at the age of thirteen. There, he received intensive training in music theory, composition, and performance, under the guidance of some of the world's leading musicians. After completing his studies at the Yehudi Menuhin School, John went on to study at the Royal Academy of Music in London, where he earned a Bachelor of Music degree in cello performance. He has also collaborated with many renowned conductors, such as Sir Simon Rattle, Daniel Barenboim, and Valery Gergiev. One of John's most memorable performances was his debut with the London Symphony Orchestra at the Barbican Centre in London in 2008. He performed the Elgar Cello Concerto, which was met with critical acclaim.
