Mairead Carlin is a classical music artist hailing from Northern Ireland. She was born on October 24, 1988, in Derry, Northern Ireland. From a young age, Carlin showed a keen interest in music and began singing in her local church choir. Her parents recognized her talent and encouraged her to pursue a career in music. Carlin attended the University of Ulster, where she studied music and graduated with a degree in music education. During her time at university, Carlin honed her skills as a singer and began performing at local events and concerts. She also participated in various music competitions and won several awards for her performances. In 2011, Carlin auditioned for the Celtic Woman group, a popular Irish music ensemble. She was selected to join the group and began touring with them in 2012. Carlin quickly became a fan favorite, thanks to her powerful vocals and stage presence. She performed with the group for three years, touring extensively across the United States and Europe. During her time with Celtic Woman, Carlin also began working on her solo career. In 2014, she released her debut album, "Songbook," which featured a collection of classic songs from the Great American Songbook. The album was well-received by critics and fans alike, and Carlin began touring in support of the album. In 2015, Carlin was invited to perform at the World Police and Fire Games in Belfast, Northern Ireland. She performed in front of a crowd of over 10,000 people and received a standing ovation for her performance. Later that year, Carlin was invited to perform at the BBC Proms in the Park, a prestigious music festival held in London's Hyde Park. She performed alongside some of the biggest names in classical music, including Andrea Bocelli and Katherine Jenkins. In 2017, Carlin was invited to perform at the Royal Albert Hall in London as part of the "Classical Spectacular" concert series. She performed alongside the Royal Philharmonic Orchestra and received rave reviews for her performance. Later that year, Carlin was invited to perform at the World Meeting of Families in Dublin, Ireland, where she performed in front of Pope Francis. In 2018, Carlin released her third album, "Etched in Time," which featured a mix of original songs and covers. The album was another critical and commercial success, and Carlin continued to tour extensively in support of the album. In 2019, Carlin was invited to perform at the Royal Variety Performance, a prestigious event attended by members of the British royal family. She performed alongside some of the biggest names in entertainment, including Robbie Williams and Lewis Capaldi. Throughout her career, Carlin has received numerous awards and accolades for her performances. She has won several awards at the World Championships of Performing Arts, including the Grand Champion of the World title. She has also been nominated for several Classical Brit Awards and has won the Northern Ireland Music Prize. In addition to her music career, Carlin is also a philanthropist and has worked with several charities, including the Northern Ireland Children's Hospice and the Alzheimer's Society.
