He also learned to play other instruments, including the violin and the cello. After completing his studies at Juilliard, Musick began his professional career as a pianist. Musick's breakthrough performance came in 1975 when he performed at the Carnegie Hall in New York City. He played Beethoven's Piano Sonata No. 14, also known as the Moonlight Sonata, and received a standing ovation from the audience. Over the years, Musick continued to perform at various concerts and festivals around the world.
