Lindsay Garritson is a renowned classical pianist who has captivated audiences around the world with her virtuosic performances and deep musicality. Born in 1990 in the United States, Garritson began playing the piano at the age of four and quickly showed a natural talent for the instrument. She began formal piano lessons at the age of six and soon after began competing in local and regional piano competitions. Garritson's talent and dedication to the piano led her to pursue a career in music. She attended the Eastman School of Music in Rochester, New York, where she earned a Bachelor of Music degree in Piano Performance. During her time at Eastman, Garritson studied with renowned pianists such as Nelita True and Douglas Humpherys, and she also had the opportunity to perform in masterclasses with world-class pianists such as Leon Fleisher and Menahem Pressler. After completing her undergraduate studies, Garritson continued her musical education at the Juilliard School in New York City, where she earned a Master of Music degree in Piano Performance. At Juilliard, Garritson studied with Yoheved Kaplinsky, one of the most respected piano teachers in the world, and she also had the opportunity to perform in masterclasses with pianists such as Emanuel Ax and Richard Goode. Garritson's talent and hard work have been recognized with numerous awards and honors throughout her career. In 2011, she was named a winner of the Astral Artists National Auditions, a prestigious competition that identifies and promotes the most promising young classical musicians in the United States. As an Astral Artist, Garritson has performed in major concert halls across the country, including Carnegie Hall in New York City and the Kimmel Center in Philadelphia. In addition to her success as a solo pianist, Garritson is also an accomplished chamber musician. She has collaborated with many of the world's leading musicians, including members of the Philadelphia Orchestra and the New York Philharmonic. Garritson is also a founding member of the Garritson-Knecht Piano Duo, which has performed extensively throughout the United States and Europe. Garritson's performances are characterized by her technical brilliance, her deep musicality, and her ability to connect with audiences on an emotional level. She has been praised by critics for her "dazzling technique" and "sensitive musicality," and her performances have been described as "spellbinding" and "mesmerizing." One of Garritson's most memorable performances took place in 2014, when she performed Rachmaninoff's Piano Concerto No. 2 with the Philadelphia Orchestra.
