Nikita Fitenko is a renowned classical pianist who has captivated audiences around the world with his virtuosic performances and deep musicality. Born in Moscow, Russia in 1974, Fitenko showed an early aptitude for music and began studying piano at the age of six. His talent was quickly recognized, and he was accepted into the prestigious Central Music School in Moscow, where he studied with renowned pianist and pedagogue Tatiana Zelikman. Fitenko's early years of study were marked by intense dedication and hard work. He spent countless hours practicing and refining his technique, and his efforts paid off when he won his first major competition at the age of 12. One of Fitenko's most notable achievements came in 1990, when he won the International Tchaikovsky Competition in Moscow. Fitenko's time at Juilliard was marked by a period of intense growth and exploration, as he delved deeper into the nuances of classical music and expanded his repertoire to include a wide range of styles and composers. After completing his studies at Juilliard, Fitenko embarked on a successful career as a soloist and chamber musician. He has performed with some of the world's leading orchestras, including the Moscow Philharmonic, the St. Petersburg Philharmonic, and the New York Philharmonic. He has also collaborated with many of the world's most renowned musicians, including violinist Joshua Bell and cellist Yo-Yo Ma. Throughout his career, Fitenko has been recognized for his exceptional talent and artistry. He has won numerous awards and competitions, including the International Prokofiev Competition in St. Petersburg and the International Schumann Competition in Zwickau, Germany. He has also been awarded the prestigious Avery Fisher Career Grant, which is given to outstanding young musicians who show exceptional promise for the future. He is particularly known for his interpretations of the music of Sergei Rachmaninoff, whose works he has performed extensively throughout his career.
