Angel Mislán was a Spanish composer who lived from 1876 to 1937. He was born in the town of Alcoy, located in the province of Alicante, Spain. Mislán was born into a family of musicians, and his father was a well-known composer and conductor in the region. From a young age, Mislán showed a great interest in music and began studying piano and composition with his father. Mislán's musical education continued at the Madrid Conservatory, where he studied under the renowned composer and conductor Felipe Pedrell. One of Mislán's most famous works is his "Concierto de Albaycín," which was composed in 1920. The concerto is named after the Albaycín neighborhood in Granada, Spain, which is known for its Moorish architecture and traditional music. The concerto features a solo guitar, which is accompanied by a full orchestra. The piece is notable for its use of Spanish rhythms and melodies, as well as its virtuosic guitar passages. Another notable work by Mislán is his "Sinfonía Ibérica," which was composed in 1925. The symphony is divided into four movements, each of which is inspired by a different region of Spain. The first movement, "Andalucía," features traditional flamenco rhythms and melodies, while the second movement, "Castilla," is more somber and reflective. The third movement, "Cataluña," features lively dance rhythms, and the final movement, "Galicia," is inspired by the traditional music of the region.
