Alberto Lujan was born on May 15, 1985, in Mexico City, Mexico. He grew up in a family of musicians, with his father being a renowned classical guitarist and his mother a pianist. From a young age, Lujan showed a keen interest in music and began playing the piano at the age of four. Lujan's parents recognized his talent and encouraged him to pursue a career in music. He began taking formal piano lessons at the age of six and quickly progressed, winning his first piano competition at the age of eight. Lujan continued to excel in his studies and was accepted into the National Conservatory of Music in Mexico City at the age of 14. During his time at the conservatory, Lujan studied under the guidance of renowned pianist and teacher, Ana Maria Tradatti. He also had the opportunity to perform in numerous concerts and competitions, both in Mexico and abroad. In 2003, Lujan won first prize in the National Piano Competition in Mexico City, cementing his reputation as one of the country's most promising young pianists. After completing his studies at the conservatory, Lujan moved to Europe to further his musical education. He enrolled at the Royal Conservatory of Brussels in Belgium, where he studied under the tutelage of renowned pianist and teacher, Maria João Pires. Lujan's time in Brussels was a period of intense musical growth, and he credits Pires with helping him to develop his unique style and approach to the piano. In 2008, Lujan made his debut as a soloist with the Brussels Philharmonic Orchestra, performing Beethoven's Piano Concerto No. 3. The performance was a resounding success, and Lujan was praised for his technical skill and musicality. This performance marked the beginning of Lujan's career as a soloist, and he quickly became known for his dynamic and expressive performances. Over the years, Lujan has performed with numerous orchestras and ensembles around the world, including the National Symphony Orchestra of Mexico, the Brussels Philharmonic Orchestra, the Orchestre de la Suisse Romande, and the London Symphony Orchestra. One of Lujan's most memorable performances was his 2012 recital at the Royal Albert Hall in London. The concert was part of the prestigious BBC Proms series and was broadcast live on television and radio. Lujan's performance was widely praised, with critics hailing his "dazzling technique" and "sensitive musicality." In addition to his performances as a soloist, Lujan is also an accomplished chamber musician.
