Born on May 12, 1975, in New York City, Aleta showed an early interest in music and began playing the piano at the age of five. Her parents, both music enthusiasts, recognized her talent and encouraged her to pursue a career in music. Aleta's musical journey began with her enrollment in the Juilliard School's Pre-College Division, where she studied under the tutelage of renowned pianist Yoheved Kaplinsky. She continued her studies at the Juilliard School, where she earned a Bachelor of Music degree in Piano Performance. During her time at Juilliard, Aleta was awarded the prestigious William Petschek Piano Scholarship, which is awarded to the most promising pianists in the school. After completing her studies at Juilliard, Aleta went on to earn a Master of Music degree in Piano Performance from the Manhattan School of Music. She also studied at the Aspen Music Festival and School, where she worked with renowned pianists such as John O'Conor and Ann Schein. Aleta's talent and hard work paid off when she won the top prize at the 1998 Hilton Head International Piano Competition. This competition is one of the most prestigious piano competitions in the world, and Aleta's win cemented her status as one of the most promising young pianists of her generation. Since then, Aleta has performed in some of the world's most prestigious concert halls, including Carnegie Hall, Lincoln Center, and the Kennedy Center.
