Diamanda La Berge Dramm is a Dutch-American violinist and composer who has made a name for herself in the world of classical music. Born in 1991 in San Francisco, California, Dramm grew up in a family of musicians and was exposed to music from a young age. Her mother, Monica Germino, is a violinist and her father, Frank van der Weij, is a sound engineer. Dramm began playing the violin at the age of four and quickly showed a natural talent for the instrument. She studied at the San Francisco Conservatory of Music and later at the Royal Conservatory of The Hague in the Netherlands. During her studies, she was mentored by renowned violinists such as Vera Beths and Shmuel Ashkenasi. Dramm's career as a professional musician began in 2013 when she won the Dutch Classical Talent Award, a prestigious competition for young classical musicians. This award helped to launch her career and led to numerous performances throughout the Netherlands and Europe. One of Dramm's most notable performances was her solo debut at the Concertgebouw in Amsterdam in 2015. In addition to the Dutch Classical Talent Award, she has been awarded the Kersjes Prize for young musicians and the Keep an Eye International Jazz Award.
