Johann Paul Schiffelholz was a German composer born on January 12, 1757, in the town of Nuremberg. He was the son of a musician and grew up in a musical family. Johann Paul showed an early interest in music and began studying the violin and piano at a young age. At the age of 14, Johann Paul Schiffelholz was accepted into the Nuremberg Court Orchestra as a violinist. He continued to study music and composition, and in 1778, he was appointed as the court composer for the Margrave of Ansbach. He composed a number of symphonies, chamber music, and piano sonatas. His music was well-received by audiences and critics alike, and he quickly gained a reputation as a talented composer. In 1785, Schiffelholz was appointed as the court composer for the Duke of Bavaria. This position allowed him to compose music for the court and to perform his works in public. This symphony is known for its use of the horn, which was a relatively new instrument at the time. The symphony is also notable for its use of the sonata form, which was a new form of composition that was becoming popular in the late 18th century. Schiffelholz continued to compose music throughout his life, and he remained active in the music community until his death in 1820. His music was influential in the development of the classical style, and his use of new forms and techniques helped to pave the way for the Romantic era of music. In addition to his work as a composer, Schiffelholz was also a respected music teacher. He taught music theory and composition to a number of students, many of whom went on to become successful composers in their own right.
