Boulay's musical education began at the Conservatoire de Paris, where she studied under the guidance of renowned pianist and teacher, Jean-Marc Luisada. Boulay's career as a professional musician began in earnest after she won the prestigious Van Cliburn International Piano Competition in 2009. The competition, which is held every four years in Fort Worth, Texas, is one of the most prestigious piano competitions in the world and attracts the best young pianists from around the globe. One of Boulay's most memorable performances was her debut at Carnegie Hall in 2011.
