Olivia Chaney is a British folk singer, songwriter, and multi-instrumentalist who has also made a name for herself as a classical music composer. Born in 1989 in Oxford, England, Chaney grew up in a musical family and began playing the piano at a young age. She later learned to play the guitar, banjo, and harmonium, and began writing her own songs. Chaney studied at the Royal Academy of Music in London, where she focused on classical music composition. She was particularly interested in the works of composers such as Bach, Schubert, and Brahms, and sought to incorporate elements of their music into her own compositions. In 2013, Chaney released her debut album, "The Longest River," which showcased her unique blend of folk and classical music. The album received critical acclaim and helped establish Chaney as a rising star in the music world. Over the next few years, Chaney continued to write and perform music, both as a solo artist and as a member of various bands and ensembles. In 2017, she released her second album, "Shelter," which featured a mix of original compositions and covers of traditional folk songs. One of the highlights of Chaney's career as a composer was her collaboration with the Kronos Quartet, a renowned string quartet based in San Francisco.
