However, it was her love for singing that led her to pursue a career in opera. She studied at the Vienna Music Academy and made her debut in 1943 at the Vienna State Opera as the Second Lady in Mozart's "The Magic Flute." Wengraf quickly established herself as a rising star in the opera world, and her performances were praised for their emotional depth and technical skill. She went on to perform in some of the world's most prestigious opera houses, including the Metropolitan Opera in New York, the Royal Opera House in London, and La Scala in Milan.
