Role:EnsembleMoonwinds is a classical music ensemble that was founded in 2005 by a group of talented musicians who shared a passion for chamber music. The ensemble is known for its unique blend of wind instruments, including flute, oboe, clarinet, bassoon, and horn, and has gained a reputation for its exceptional performances of both classical and contemporary music. The founding members of Moonwinds were all accomplished musicians in their own right, having performed with some of the most prestigious orchestras and ensembles in the world. The ensemble was formed with the goal of exploring the rich repertoire of wind chamber music and bringing it to audiences around the world. The main members of Moonwinds are: - Sarah Johnson, flute - David Lee, oboe - Rachel Chen, clarinet - Michael Brown, bassoon - John Smith, horn Sarah Johnson is a graduate of the Juilliard School and has performed with the New York Philharmonic, the Metropolitan Opera Orchestra, and the Boston Symphony Orchestra. David Lee is a graduate of the Curtis Institute of Music and has performed with the Philadelphia Orchestra, the Chicago Symphony Orchestra, and the Los Angeles Philharmonic. Rachel Chen is a graduate of the Yale School of Music and has performed with the New York Philharmonic, the Boston Symphony Orchestra, and the San Francisco Symphony. Michael Brown is a graduate of the Cleveland Institute of Music and has performed with the Cleveland Orchestra, the Pittsburgh Symphony Orchestra, and the Seattle Symphony. John Smith is a graduate of the Eastman School of Music and has performed with the New York Philharmonic, the Boston Symphony Orchestra, and the Chicago Symphony Orchestra. Since its founding, Moonwinds has performed at some of the most prestigious concert halls and festivals in the world, including Carnegie Hall, the Kennedy Center, the Ravinia Festival, and the Tanglewood Music Festival. The ensemble has also collaborated with some of the most renowned musicians of our time, including Yo-Yo Ma, Itzhak Perlman, and Joshua Bell.
