From a young age, N'kaoua showed a keen interest in music and began playing the piano at the age of six. He quickly showed a natural talent for the instrument and began taking lessons with some of the best teachers in Paris. N'kaoua's talent was recognized early on, and he was awarded a scholarship to study at the prestigious Conservatoire National Supérieur de Musique et de Danse de Paris. He studied under some of the most renowned piano teachers in the world, including Jacques Rouvier and Brigitte Engerer. During his time at the conservatory, N'kaoua won several awards and competitions, including the First Prize in the International Piano Competition of Epinal in 1993. After completing his studies at the conservatory, N'kaoua began performing extensively throughout Europe and the United States. He quickly gained a reputation as one of the most talented and exciting young pianists of his generation. His performances were praised for their technical brilliance, emotional depth, and musical sensitivity. One of N'kaoua's most memorable performances was at the Théâtre des Champs-Élysées in Paris in 1998. He performed a solo recital that included works by Chopin, Liszt, and Debussy.
