Born on May 5, 1978, in Sofia, Bulgaria, Bodourov showed an early interest in music and began playing the piano at the age of five. He was a prodigious talent and quickly gained recognition for his exceptional musical abilities. Bodourov's parents were both musicians, and they encouraged their son's musical pursuits from an early age. He began his formal music education at the National School of Music "Lyubomir Pipkov" in Sofia, where he studied piano under the tutelage of Professor Stella Dimitrova. He later went on to study at the National Academy of Music "Pancho Vladigerov" in Sofia, where he earned a degree in piano performance. Throughout his early career, Bodourov gained a reputation as a talented and versatile musician. He was equally adept at performing solo piano works as he was at accompanying other musicians or playing in chamber ensembles. He also showed an interest in conducting, and began studying conducting with Professor Vassil Kazandjiev at the National Academy of Music. Bodourov's breakthrough performance came in 2001, when he won first prize at the International Piano Competition "Citta di Marsala" in Italy. This prestigious competition attracts some of the world's most talented young pianists, and Bodourov's victory was a significant achievement. It brought him international recognition and opened the door to many new performance opportunities. Over the years, Bodourov has performed in some of the world's most prestigious concert halls, including Carnegie Hall in New York, the Royal Albert Hall in London, and the Berlin Philharmonic. He has also collaborated with many of the world's leading orchestras, including the London Symphony Orchestra, the Berlin Philharmonic, and the New York Philharmonic. In addition to his work as a pianist, Bodourov has also established himself as a respected conductor.
