The founding members of the Simi String Quartet were Sarah Thornblade (violin), Joel Pargman (violin), Rob Brophy (viola), and Ani Aznavoorian (cello). The Simi String Quartet quickly gained a reputation for their exceptional musicianship and their ability to bring a fresh perspective to classical music. They have performed at some of the most prestigious venues in the world, including Carnegie Hall, the Kennedy Center, and the Walt Disney Concert Hall. They have also collaborated with some of the most renowned musicians in the industry, including Yo-Yo Ma, Itzhak Perlman, and Joshua Bell. One of the highlights of the Simi String Quartet's career was their performance at the 2002 Grammy Awards. They were invited to perform with the legendary singer-songwriter Paul Simon, and their rendition of his hit song "Bridge Over Troubled Water" was met with critical acclaim. The quartet also received a Grammy nomination for their album "Mozart: The String Quartets," which was released in 2006.
