From a young age, Dessyllas showed a natural talent for music and began playing the piano at the age of four. As a child, Dessyllas was exposed to a wide range of musical genres, but he was particularly drawn to classical music. He began studying piano seriously at the age of eight and quickly showed a remarkable aptitude for the instrument. He was soon performing in public, and by the age of ten, he had won his first piano competition. Dessyllas continued to study piano throughout his childhood and adolescence, and he quickly gained a reputation as one of the most promising young pianists in Greece. He won numerous competitions and awards, including the first prize in the National Piano Competition of Greece in 2001 and the first prize in the International Piano Competition of Thessaloniki in 2003. In 2004, Dessyllas was awarded a scholarship to study at the Royal Academy of Music in London, where he studied with renowned pianist Christopher Elton. During his time at the Academy, Dessyllas continued to win awards and accolades, including the prestigious Chappell Gold Medal, which is awarded to the most outstanding pianist of the year. After completing his studies at the Royal Academy of Music, Dessyllas embarked on a successful career as a concert pianist. He has performed in some of the world's most prestigious concert halls, including the Royal Albert Hall in London, the Carnegie Hall in New York, and the Berlin Philharmonic Hall. Dessyllas is known for his virtuosic technique and his ability to bring out the emotional depth and complexity of the music he plays.
