Nick Marsh was a British musician and composer who was born on February 5, 1963, in London, England. He grew up in a family of musicians, and his father was a jazz pianist. Marsh started playing the guitar at the age of 12 and quickly developed a passion for music. Marsh's early musical influences were diverse, ranging from classical music to punk rock. He was particularly drawn to the music of Jimi Hendrix, David Bowie, and The Clash. Marsh attended the London College of Music, where he studied classical guitar and composition. After completing his studies, Marsh began his career as a musician and composer. He played in several bands, including Flesh for Lulu, which was known for its gothic rock sound. Marsh was the lead singer and guitarist for the band, and he wrote many of their songs. In 1987, Flesh for Lulu released their most successful album, "Long Live the New Flesh." The album featured the hit single "I Go Crazy," which reached number 14 on the UK Singles Chart. The album was well-received by critics and helped to establish Flesh for Lulu as a prominent band in the gothic rock scene. After leaving Flesh for Lulu in 1992, Marsh continued to pursue his career as a musician and composer. He released several solo albums, including "A Universe Between Us" and "Innocence Breeds Insanity." Marsh's music was known for its haunting melodies and introspective lyrics. In addition to his work as a musician, Marsh was also a composer for film and television. He composed the score for several films, including "The Last Minute" and "The Disappeared." Marsh's music was also featured in several television shows, including "CSI: Miami" and "The Sopranos." Marsh's talent as a composer was recognized with several awards and nominations. In 2005, he was nominated for a BAFTA Award for Best Original Television Music for his work on the BBC drama "The Long Firm." Marsh also won the Best Original Score award at the 2006 New York City Horror Film Festival for his work on the film "The Last Horror Movie." Despite his success as a musician and composer, Marsh faced several challenges in his personal life. He struggled with addiction and was diagnosed with throat cancer in 2014. Marsh underwent treatment for the cancer, but it returned in 2015. He passed away on June 5, 2015, at the age of 52. Marsh's legacy as a musician and composer lives on through his music.
