Hsin-Ni Liu is a Taiwanese classical pianist who has gained international recognition for her virtuosic performances and musical interpretations. Born in Taipei, Taiwan in 1985, Liu began playing the piano at the age of four and quickly showed a natural talent for the instrument. She studied with several renowned teachers in Taiwan before moving to the United States to pursue her musical education. Liu attended the Juilliard School in New York City, where she earned both her Bachelor's and Master's degrees in piano performance. During her time at Juilliard, she studied with some of the most respected pianists in the world, including Emanuel Ax, Yoheved Kaplinsky, and Robert McDonald. She also had the opportunity to perform in some of the most prestigious concert halls in the world, including Carnegie Hall and Lincoln Center. After completing her studies at Juilliard, Liu continued to perform extensively throughout the United States and abroad. She has appeared as a soloist with many of the world's leading orchestras, including the New York Philharmonic, the Boston Symphony Orchestra, and the London Symphony Orchestra. She has also given recitals in some of the most renowned concert halls in the world, including the Berlin Philharmonic, the Royal Albert Hall in London, and the Salle Pleyel in Paris. Liu has won numerous awards and competitions throughout her career. In 2007, she was awarded the prestigious Avery Fisher Career Grant, which is given to outstanding young musicians who show exceptional talent and promise. She has also won top prizes in several international piano competitions, including the Leeds International Piano Competition, the Van Cliburn International Piano Competition, and the International Tchaikovsky Competition. In addition to her performing career, Liu is also a dedicated teacher and mentor. She has taught masterclasses at some of the world's leading music schools, including the Juilliard School, the Royal Academy of Music in London, and the Conservatoire de Paris. She is also a faculty member at the New England Conservatory of Music in Boston, where she teaches piano performance. Liu's repertoire is vast and varied, ranging from the classical works of Bach and Mozart to the contemporary compositions of John Adams and Philip Glass. She is known for her technical precision and her ability to bring out the emotional depth and complexity of the music she plays. Her performances are often described as powerful and moving, and she has been praised for her ability to connect with audiences on a deep and personal level.
