Militza Miladinovich was born on May 5, 1985, in Belgrade, Serbia. She grew up in a family of musicians, with her mother being a pianist and her father a violinist. From a young age, Militza showed a natural talent for music and began playing the piano at the age of four. Militza's parents recognized her talent and encouraged her to pursue a career in music. She began taking piano lessons with renowned Serbian pianist, Jokut Mihailovic, and quickly progressed in her studies. At the age of 10, she won her first piano competition, the National Piano Competition in Belgrade. As a teenager, Militza continued to excel in her studies and won several more competitions, including the International Piano Competition in Novi Sad and the International Piano Competition in Skopje. Her talent and dedication to music earned her a scholarship to study at the prestigious Juilliard School in New York City. At Juilliard, Militza studied under the guidance of renowned pianist, Emanuel Ax. She continued to win competitions and awards, including the Juilliard Concerto Competition and the Gina Bachauer Piano Competition. Her performances at Juilliard were highly praised by critics and audiences alike, and she quickly gained a reputation as one of the most promising young pianists of her generation. After graduating from Juilliard, Militza embarked on a successful career as a concert pianist. She has performed with some of the world's leading orchestras, including the New York Philharmonic, the London Symphony Orchestra, and the Berlin Philharmonic. Her performances have taken her to some of the world's most prestigious concert halls, including Carnegie Hall, the Royal Albert Hall, and the Berlin Philharmonie. Militza's repertoire is vast and includes works by some of the greatest composers in history, including Beethoven, Mozart, Chopin, and Rachmaninoff. She is particularly known for her interpretations of the works of Sergei Rachmaninoff, and has been praised for her ability to capture the emotional depth and complexity of his music. In addition to her performances as a soloist, Militza is also an accomplished chamber musician. She has collaborated with some of the world's leading musicians, including violinist Joshua Bell and cellist Yo-Yo Ma. Her chamber music performances have been highly praised for their sensitivity and musicality. Throughout her career, Militza has received numerous awards and accolades. In 2010, she was awarded the prestigious Avery Fisher Career Grant, which recognizes outstanding young musicians who show great potential for a major career in music. She continues to practice for several hours a day and is always looking for ways to improve her playing.
