Doris Cohen was born on May 12, 1985, in New York City. She grew up in a family of musicians, with both her parents being professional classical musicians. Her father was a renowned cellist, and her mother was a pianist. From a young age, Doris showed a keen interest in music and began playing the piano at the age of four. Doris received her formal music education at the Juilliard School in New York City, where she studied under some of the most renowned classical musicians of the time. She graduated with a Bachelor of Music degree in Piano Performance in 2007 and went on to pursue a Master of Music degree in Piano Performance at the same institution. Throughout her career, Doris has performed in some of the most prestigious concert halls around the world, including Carnegie Hall, the Royal Albert Hall, and the Berlin Philharmonic. She has also collaborated with some of the most renowned orchestras, including the New York Philharmonic, the London Symphony Orchestra, and the Berlin Philharmonic. One of the highlights of Doris's career was her performance at the 2010 Nobel Peace Prize Concert in Oslo, Norway. She was invited to perform alongside some of the biggest names in the music industry, including Herbie Hancock, Florence and the Machine, and Elvis Costello. Her performance was widely praised, and she received a standing ovation from the audience. Doris has also won numerous awards throughout her career, including the prestigious Avery Fisher Career Grant in 2012. The grant is awarded to outstanding young musicians who show exceptional talent and promise in their field. Doris was the first pianist to receive the award in over a decade, and it helped to launch her career to new heights. In addition to her performing career, Doris is also a dedicated music educator.
