Graham Derrick was born on May 12, 1965, in London, England. He grew up in a family of musicians, with his father being a renowned pianist and his mother a violinist. From a young age, Graham showed a keen interest in music and began playing the piano at the age of four. Graham's parents recognized his talent and encouraged him to pursue a career in music. He began taking piano lessons with his father and quickly developed a passion for classical music. By the age of ten, Graham had already performed in several concerts and had won several awards for his piano playing. In 1983, Graham was accepted into the Royal Academy of Music in London, where he studied under the tutelage of renowned pianist and teacher, Maria João Pires. During his time at the academy, Graham honed his skills and developed a unique style of playing that would later become his trademark. After graduating from the academy in 1987, Graham began performing in concerts across Europe and the United States.
