He continued his studies at the Juilliard School, where he earned his Bachelor of Music degree in Piano Performance. During his time at Juilliard, Michael studied under the tutelage of renowned pianists such as Yoheved Kaplinsky and Jerome Lowenthal. After completing his undergraduate studies, Michael went on to pursue his Master of Music degree at the Yale School of Music. There, he studied with Boris Berman, a world-renowned pianist and pedagogue. Michael's time at Yale was marked by numerous accolades, including the Elizabeth Parisot Prize for outstanding pianist and the Charles S. Miller Prize for the most outstanding first-year pianist. Michael's talent and dedication to his craft have earned him numerous awards and recognitions throughout his career.
