Jamilia Jazylbekova was born on May 5, 1985, in Almaty, Kazakhstan. She grew up in a family of musicians, with her mother being a pianist and her father a composer. From a young age, Jazylbekova showed a natural talent for music and began studying piano and composition under her parents' guidance. At the age of 12, Jazylbekova was accepted into the Almaty Conservatory, where she continued her studies in piano and composition. She quickly gained recognition for her exceptional talent and was awarded numerous prizes in national and international competitions. After completing her studies at the conservatory, Jazylbekova went on to pursue a career as a composer. Her early works were heavily influenced by the traditional music of Kazakhstan, incorporating elements of Kazakh folk music into her compositions. In 2008, Jazylbekova was awarded a scholarship to study at the Moscow Conservatory, where she continued to develop her skills as a composer. During her time in Moscow, Jazylbekova was exposed to a wide range of musical styles and began to incorporate elements of Western classical music into her compositions. Jazylbekova's music is characterized by its unique blend of traditional Kazakh music and Western classical music. Her compositions often feature complex rhythms and intricate melodies, reflecting her deep understanding of both musical traditions. One of Jazylbekova's most notable works is her Symphony No. 1, which was premiered in 2012 by the Kazakhstan State Symphony Orchestra. The symphony is a powerful and emotional work, featuring sweeping melodies and intricate harmonies. Another highlight of Jazylbekova's career is her collaboration with the renowned Kazakh singer, Roza Rymbaeva. Together, they have created a number of works that blend traditional Kazakh music with Western classical music, showcasing the rich cultural heritage of Kazakhstan. Jazylbekova's music has been performed by orchestras and ensembles around the world, including the Moscow Philharmonic Orchestra, the Kazakhstan State Symphony Orchestra, and the Astana Opera Symphony Orchestra.
