Anna-Maija Korsimaa is a Finnish classical pianist who has gained international recognition for her virtuosic performances and musical interpretations. Born on May 22, 1985, in Helsinki, Finland, Korsimaa showed an early interest in music and began playing the piano at the age of six. She quickly demonstrated a natural talent for the instrument and began taking lessons with renowned Finnish pianist and pedagogue, Liisa Pohjola. Korsimaa's musical education continued at the Sibelius Academy in Helsinki, where she studied under the guidance of professors Hui-Ying Liu-Tawaststjerna and Erik T. Tawaststjerna. During her time at the academy, Korsimaa won several awards and competitions, including the Yamaha Music Foundation of Europe Scholarship and the Finnish National Piano Competition.
