Michael Christie is a renowned American conductor and music director, known for his exceptional talent and passion for classical music. Born on August 17, 1974, in Buffalo, New York, Christie grew up in a family of musicians and was exposed to music from a very young age. His father was a jazz pianist, and his mother was a music teacher, which helped him develop a deep appreciation for music. Christie began his musical journey by learning to play the piano and the trumpet. He later went on to study at the Oberlin Conservatory of Music, where he earned a Bachelor of Music degree in trumpet performance. After completing his undergraduate studies, Christie continued his education at the Juilliard School, where he earned a Master of Music degree in conducting. Christie's career as a conductor began in 1995 when he was appointed as the assistant conductor of the Buffalo Philharmonic Orchestra.
