Born on August 17, 1974, in Buffalo, New York, Christie grew up in a family of musicians and was exposed to music from a very young age. Christie began his musical journey by learning to play the piano and the trumpet. He later went on to study at the Oberlin Conservatory of Music, where he earned a Bachelor of Music degree in trumpet performance.
