Zoë Poledouris was born on August 25, 1973, in Los Angeles, California. She was the daughter of the renowned film composer Basil Poledouris and his wife, Bobbie Poledouris. Zoë grew up in a musical family and was exposed to a wide range of music from an early age. Her father's work in the film industry had a significant influence on her musical development, and she was drawn to classical music from an early age. Zoë began her musical training at the age of six, studying piano and violin. She showed a natural talent for music and quickly progressed in her studies.
