He was the son of a music teacher and grew up in a family that was passionate about music. From a young age, Vad showed a keen interest in music and began playing the piano at the age of six. He later went on to study at the Royal Danish Academy of Music in Copenhagen, where he received his formal training in music. Vad's talent as a pianist was evident from an early age, and he quickly gained recognition for his exceptional skills. He made his debut as a soloist at the age of 16, performing Beethoven's Piano Concerto No. 3 with the Danish Radio Symphony Orchestra. This performance was a huge success, and it marked the beginning of Vad's career as a professional musician. Over the years, Vad went on to perform with some of the world's most renowned orchestras, including the London Symphony Orchestra, the Berlin Philharmonic, and the New York Philharmonic. He also collaborated with many famous conductors, such as Leonard Bernstein, Herbert von Karajan, and Sir Georg Solti.
