Richard Strobl was born on May 12, 1985, in Vienna, Austria. He grew up in a family of musicians, with his father being a renowned cellist and his mother a pianist. From a young age, Strobl showed a natural talent for music and began playing the violin at the age of four. Strobl's parents recognized his potential and encouraged him to pursue a career in music. He began taking lessons with some of the best violin teachers in Vienna and quickly became known for his exceptional talent. By the age of ten, Strobl had already won several local competitions and was invited to perform at prestigious venues across Europe. In 1997, Strobl was accepted into the Vienna Conservatory, where he studied under the tutelage of renowned violinist, Wolfgang Schneiderhan. During his time at the conservatory, Strobl continued to excel, winning numerous awards and competitions. In 2001, he graduated with honors and was awarded a scholarship to study at the Juilliard School in New York City. Strobl's time at Juilliard was a turning point in his career. He was exposed to a new level of musical excellence and was able to work with some of the most talented musicians in the world. During his time at Juilliard, Strobl won several awards, including the prestigious Juilliard Concerto Competition. After graduating from Juilliard in 2005, Strobl began performing with some of the most renowned orchestras in the world. He quickly gained a reputation as one of the most talented violinists of his generation and was invited to perform at some of the most prestigious venues in the world, including Carnegie Hall and the Royal Albert Hall. In 2008, Strobl was awarded the Avery Fisher Career Grant, one of the most prestigious awards in classical music. The award recognized Strobl's exceptional talent and his potential to become one of the great violinists of his generation. Over the years, Strobl has continued to perform at the highest level, collaborating with some of the most talented musicians in the world. He has recorded several albums, including a critically acclaimed recording of Bach's Sonatas and Partitas for Solo Violin. In addition to his performing career, Strobl is also a dedicated teacher. He has taught masterclasses at some of the most prestigious music schools in the world, including the Juilliard School and the Vienna Conservatory. Despite his success, Strobl remains humble and dedicated to his craft. He continues to practice for several hours a day and is always looking for ways to improve his playing. His dedication to his art has made him one of the most respected and admired musicians of his generation.
