Hadar studied at the Jerusalem Academy of Music and Dance, where he was taught by some of the most prominent composers of the time, including Paul Ben-Haim and Alexander Uriah Boskovich. Ansky and premiered in 1974. The ballet was a critical and commercial success and has been performed by dance companies around the world. Hadar also composed several symphonies, chamber music pieces, and choral works. In addition to his work as a composer, Hadar was also a respected music educator. He taught at the Jerusalem Academy of Music and Dance for many years and was known for his dedication to his students. Many of his former students have gone on to become successful composers and performers in their own right. Hadar received numerous awards and honors throughout his career, including the Israel Prize for Music in 1984. He was also awarded the ACUM Prize for Lifetime Achievement in 2001.
