Quentin MacLean was born on May 12, 1985, in London, England. He grew up in a family of musicians, with his mother being a pianist and his father a cellist. From a young age, MacLean showed a natural talent for music and began playing the piano at the age of four. MacLean's parents recognized his potential and enrolled him in the Royal Academy of Music in London when he was just six years old. He studied under some of the most renowned piano teachers in the world, including Maria João Pires and Martha Argerich. MacLean's talent quickly became apparent, and he began performing in public at the age of eight. He made his debut with the London Symphony Orchestra when he was just ten years old, playing Mozart's Piano Concerto No. 20 in D minor.
