In 1997, he won first prize in the Taiwan National Piano Competition, and in 1999, he won first prize in the Cincinnati World Piano Competition. He has also been a finalist in several other international piano competitions, including the Van Cliburn International Piano Competition and the Leeds International Piano Competition. In addition to his performing career, Keng Yuen Tseng is also a dedicated teacher. He has taught at several universities and music schools, including the University of Cincinnati's College-Conservatory of Music, the Taipei National University of the Arts, and the National Taiwan Normal University.
