Period:RomanticGenre:ChamberKenneth Perkins was born on May 15, 1985, in New York City. He grew up in a family of musicians, with his mother being a pianist and his father a cellist. From a young age, Perkins showed a natural talent for music, and he began playing the piano at the age of four. Perkins received his formal music education at the Juilliard School in New York City, where he studied under the renowned pianist and teacher, Yoheved Kaplinsky. He also studied with other notable pianists, including Emanuel Ax and Murray Perahia. Perkins made his debut as a soloist with the New York Philharmonic at the age of 16, performing Beethoven's Piano Concerto No. 3. The performance was a huge success, and Perkins was praised for his technical skill and musicality. Over the years, Perkins has performed with many of the world's leading orchestras, including the Berlin Philharmonic, the London Symphony Orchestra, and the Chicago Symphony Orchestra. He has also collaborated with some of the most celebrated conductors of our time, including Daniel Barenboim, Simon Rattle, and Riccardo Muti. One of Perkins' most memorable performances was his rendition of Rachmaninoff's Piano Concerto No. 2 with the Boston Symphony Orchestra in 2010. In addition to his work as a soloist, Perkins is also an accomplished chamber musician.
