Mary Adelyn Kauffman was born on May 12, 1990, in New York City. She grew up in a family of musicians, with her mother being a pianist and her father a cellist. From a young age, Kauffman showed a natural talent for music and began taking piano lessons at the age of four. As she grew older, Kauffman's love for music only intensified. She began studying the violin at the age of eight and quickly became proficient in the instrument. By the time she was a teenager, Kauffman was already performing in local orchestras and winning awards for her musical abilities. In 2008, Kauffman was accepted into the prestigious Juilliard School in New York City. She studied under some of the most renowned violinists in the world, including Itzhak Perlman and Pinchas Zukerman. After graduating from Juilliard in 2012, Kauffman began performing professionally. One of Kauffman's most notable performances came in 2014, when she was invited to perform at the Kennedy Center in Washington, D.C. The performance was part of the center's annual "Arts for Autism" event, which raises money for autism research and awareness. In addition to her performances, Kauffman has also won numerous awards for her musical abilities. In 2015, she was awarded the prestigious Avery Fisher Career Grant, which is given to young musicians who show exceptional talent and promise.
