Role:Composer PerformerLior Attar, known professionally as Lior, is an Israeli-Australian singer-songwriter and guitarist who has made a name for himself in the world of classical music. Born on October 10, 1977, in Rishon LeZion, Israel, Lior grew up in a musical family and was exposed to a wide range of musical genres from an early age. His father was a classical pianist, and his mother was a singer, so it was only natural that Lior would develop a love for music. Lior's family moved to Sydney, Australia, when he was just a year old, and it was there that he began his musical journey. He started playing the guitar at the age of 13 and quickly became proficient in the instrument. He also began writing his own songs and performing at local venues. After completing high school, Lior studied music at the University of New South Wales, where he honed his skills as a songwriter and performer. He also began collaborating with other musicians and formed a band called "The Standard Deviations." In 2002, Lior released his debut album, "Autumn Flow," which was a critical and commercial success. The album featured a mix of folk, pop, and classical influences and showcased Lior's unique voice and songwriting style. The album was nominated for several awards, including the ARIA Award for Best Male Artist, and won the AIR Award for Best Independent Release. Following the success of "Autumn Flow," Lior continued to tour and record, releasing several more albums over the years. He also collaborated with other artists, including the Australian Chamber Orchestra and the Sydney Symphony Orchestra, and performed at major music festivals around the world. One of Lior's most notable performances was at the 2006 Commonwealth Games in Melbourne, where he performed his song "This Old Love" in front of a global audience of millions. The song became a hit and helped to further cement Lior's reputation as a talented and versatile musician. In addition to his music career, Lior has also been involved in various philanthropic and social justice causes. He has worked with organizations such as Oxfam and the Asylum Seeker Resource Centre and has used his music to raise awareness about issues such as climate change and refugee rights. Throughout his career, Lior has received numerous awards and accolades for his music. In addition to the AIR Award for Best Independent Release, he has won the APRA Award for Best Independent Release, the Australian Music Prize, and the Sydney Theatre Award for Best Original Score. He has also been nominated for several ARIA Awards and has been recognized for his contributions to the Australian music industry. Today, Lior continues to perform and record music, and his unique blend of classical, folk, and pop influences has earned him a loyal following around the world. With his soulful voice and heartfelt lyrics, he has become one of the most respected and beloved artists in the world of classical music.More....
