Artist Info
Alisa Suzanne Jordheim is a classical music artist who has made a name for herself in the world of opera and concert singing. Born in Wisconsin, USA, in 1989, Jordheim grew up in a musical family and began singing at a young age. She attended the University of Wisconsin-Madison, where she earned a Bachelor of Music degree in vocal performance. She then went on to pursue a Master of Music degree at the University of Cincinnati College-Conservatory of Music. Jordheim's career as a professional singer began in 2012, when she made her debut with the Cincinnati Opera in the role of Barbarina in Mozart's "The Marriage of Figaro." This performance was followed by a series of other successful roles, including Susanna in "The Marriage of Figaro," Zerlina in "Don Giovanni," and Gretel in "Hansel and Gretel." In 2014, Jordheim was named a winner of the Metropolitan Opera National Council Auditions, one of the most prestigious competitions for young opera singers in the United States. This award helped to launch her career to new heights, and she soon began performing with some of the world's leading opera companies, including the Lyric Opera of Chicago, the Santa Fe Opera, and the Houston Grand Opera. One of Jordheim's most notable performances came in 2016, when she sang the role of Pamina in Mozart's "The Magic Flute" with the Lyric Opera of Chicago. This performance was widely praised by critics, who noted Jordheim's "crystalline soprano" and "impeccable phrasing." She also received critical acclaim for her performance as Sophie in Richard Strauss's "Der Rosenkavalier" with the Santa Fe Opera in 2017. In addition to her work in opera, Jordheim is also an accomplished concert singer. She has performed with some of the world's leading orchestras, including the Chicago Symphony Orchestra, the Cincinnati Symphony Orchestra, and the Milwaukee Symphony Orchestra. She has also been a featured soloist at the Ravinia Festival, one of the world's most prestigious summer music festivals. Jordheim's talent and hard work have earned her numerous awards and honors throughout her career. In addition to the Metropolitan Opera National Council Auditions, she has been a winner of the George London Foundation Competition, the Licia Albanese-Puccini Foundation Competition, and the Bel Canto Foundation Competition. She has also been a finalist in the International Hans Gabor Belvedere Singing Competition and the Neue Stimmen International Singing Competition. Despite her many accomplishments, Jordheim remains humble and dedicated to her craft. She is known for her tireless work ethic and her commitment to bringing the beauty of classical music to audiences around the world. As she continues to grow and evolve as an artist, there is no doubt that she will continue to be a force to be reckoned with in the world of opera and concert singing.More....
