Francisco Guerrero was a Spanish composer of the Renaissance period, born in Seville in 1528. He was particularly skilled at writing choral music, and many of his works were composed for the church. One of Guerrero's most famous works is his Missa de la Batalla Escoutez, which was composed in 1556. The piece was performed at the coronation of King Philip II of Spain, and it remains one of Guerrero's most popular works to this day. Another notable work by Guerrero is his Ave Maria, which is a setting of the traditional Catholic prayer.
