He grew up in a family of musicians, with his father being a professional pianist and his mother a violinist. From a young age, Cardona showed a natural talent for music, and his parents encouraged him to pursue his passion. Cardona began his formal music education at the age of six, studying piano with his father. He quickly progressed and began performing in public at the age of eight. At the age of ten, he began studying the violin with his mother, and by the age of twelve, he was performing as a soloist with local orchestras. In 1998, Cardona was accepted into the Juilliard School's Pre-College Division, where he studied with renowned violinist Itzhak Perlman. He continued his studies at Juilliard, earning his Bachelor of Music degree in 2006 and his Master of Music degree in 2008. Throughout his education, Cardona received numerous awards and honors. In 2002, he won first prize in the New York State Music Teachers Association Competition, and in 2004, he won the Juilliard Concerto Competition. In 2006, he was awarded the prestigious William Schuman Prize for outstanding achievement and leadership in music. After completing his studies at Juilliard, Cardona began his professional career as a soloist and chamber musician. He has performed with orchestras around the world, including the New York Philharmonic, the Boston Symphony Orchestra, and the London Symphony Orchestra. He has also performed in major concert halls, such as Carnegie Hall, the Royal Albert Hall, and the Berlin Philharmonic. In addition to his solo career, Cardona is also an accomplished chamber musician. He has performed with some of the world's leading chamber ensembles, including the Emerson String Quartet and the Guarneri Quartet. He is also a founding member of the Cardona Quartet, which has received critical acclaim for its performances and recordings.
