The ensemble was founded in 1995 by pianists Roberto and Claudia Poli, who are also husband and wife. Roberto studied at the Conservatory of Music in Florence, Italy, while Claudia studied at the Conservatory of Music in Venice, Italy. The duo's first major performance was in 1996 at the Teatro Verdi in Florence, Italy. They performed a program of works by Mozart, Schubert, and Brahms to critical acclaim. One of the highlights of the duo's career was their performance at the 2002 World Piano Pedagogy Conference in Las Vegas, Nevada.
