Harry Scorzo was born on May 15, 1985, in Los Angeles, California. He grew up in a family of musicians, with his father being a jazz pianist and his mother a classical violinist. From a young age, Scorzo showed a natural talent for music and began playing the violin at the age of four. Scorzo's parents recognized his talent and encouraged him to pursue a career in music. He began taking private lessons with renowned violin teachers in Los Angeles and quickly became known for his exceptional skill and musicality. In 2003, Scorzo was accepted into the prestigious Juilliard School in New York City, where he studied under the tutelage of Itzhak Perlman. During his time at Juilliard, Scorzo won numerous awards and competitions, including the Juilliard Concerto Competition and the International Violin Competition in Indianapolis. After graduating from Juilliard in 2007, Scorzo began performing with some of the world's most renowned orchestras, including the New York Philharmonic, the Boston Symphony Orchestra, and the London Symphony Orchestra. He quickly gained a reputation as one of the most talented and versatile violinists of his generation. In addition to his work as a soloist, Scorzo also became known for his chamber music performances. He formed a string quartet with three other Juilliard graduates, and the group quickly gained a following for their innovative and dynamic performances. One of Scorzo's most memorable performances came in 2012, when he performed the Brahms Violin Concerto with the Berlin Philharmonic under the direction of Sir Simon Rattle. The performance was hailed as a triumph, with critics praising Scorzo's technical skill and emotional depth. Scorzo has also been recognized for his work as a teacher and mentor. He has taught master classes at some of the world's leading music schools, including the Curtis Institute of Music and the Royal Academy of Music in London. Many of his students have gone on to successful careers as professional musicians. Throughout his career, Scorzo has received numerous awards and honors. In 2010, he was awarded the Avery Fisher Career Grant, one of the most prestigious awards in classical music.
