Role:PerformerPeriod:RomanticGenre:OperaAugusto Veronese was born on May 12, 1985, in Buenos Aires, Argentina. He grew up in a family of musicians, with his father being a pianist and his mother a singer. From a young age, Veronese showed a natural talent for music and began studying piano at the age of four. Veronese's early musical education was heavily influenced by his father, who taught him the basics of piano technique and music theory. As he grew older, Veronese began to explore other musical genres, including jazz and rock, but his true passion remained classical music. In 2003, Veronese was accepted into the National University of Arts in Buenos Aires, where he studied piano performance under the guidance of renowned pianist and pedagogue Bruno Gelber. During his time at the university, Veronese also had the opportunity to perform in several concerts and recitals, both as a soloist and as part of chamber ensembles. After graduating from the university in 2008, Veronese continued his studies in Europe, where he enrolled in the Hochschule für Musik und Tanz Köln in Germany. There, he studied under the tutelage of pianist and pedagogue Pierre-Laurent Aimard, who had a profound impact on Veronese's musical development. Under Aimard's guidance, Veronese honed his technical skills and developed a deeper understanding of the nuances of classical music. He also began to experiment with contemporary music, incorporating elements of avant-garde and experimental music into his performances. Veronese's breakthrough performance came in 2010, when he won first prize at the International Piano Competition in Geneva, Switzerland. The competition, which is one of the most prestigious in the world, attracts some of the most talented young pianists from around the globe. Veronese's performance at the competition was hailed by critics and audiences alike, who praised his technical prowess and musical sensitivity. His interpretation of Beethoven's Piano Sonata No. 32 in C minor, Op. 111, was particularly lauded for its emotional depth and expressive power. Following his victory at the competition, Veronese began to receive invitations to perform at some of the world's most renowned concert halls and festivals. He made his debut at the Berlin Philharmonic in 2011, where he performed Mozart's Piano Concerto No. 23 in A major, K. 488, with the Berlin Philharmonic Orchestra under the baton of Sir Simon Rattle. Veronese's performance at the Berlin Philharmonic was a resounding success, earning him critical acclaim and cementing his reputation as one of the most promising young pianists of his generation. He went on to perform at other prestigious venues, including Carnegie Hall in New York, the Royal Albert Hall in London, and the Théâtre des Champs-Élysées in Paris. In addition to his solo performances, Veronese also collaborated with some of the world's leading orchestras and conductors. He worked with conductors such as Daniel Barenboim, Riccardo Chailly, and Zubin Mehta, and performed with orchestras such as the Vienna Philharmonic, the London Symphony Orchestra, and the New York Philharmonic. Veronese's repertoire was wide-ranging and included works by composers from the Baroque era to the present day. He was particularly known for his interpretations of Beethoven, Mozart, and Schubert, but also performed works by contemporary composers such as György Ligeti and Pierre Boulez. Despite his success, Veronese remained humble and dedicated to his craft.More....
