Robert Faller was born on May 12, 1985, in Vienna, Austria. He was born into a family of musicians, with his father being a renowned pianist and his mother a violinist. From a young age, Faller was exposed to classical music and began playing the piano at the age of four. Faller's talent was quickly recognized, and he began performing in public at the age of six. He won his first competition at the age of eight and went on to win numerous awards throughout his childhood and teenage years. In 2003, Faller was accepted into the prestigious Vienna Conservatory, where he studied under some of the most renowned piano teachers in the world. During his time at the conservatory, Faller continued to win awards and accolades, including first prize in the International Piano Competition in Salzburg in 2005. After graduating from the conservatory in 2007, Faller began performing professionally, both as a soloist and as part of chamber ensembles. He quickly gained a reputation as one of the most talented young pianists in Europe, and his performances were praised for their technical brilliance and emotional depth. In 2010, Faller was invited to perform at the prestigious Salzburg Festival, one of the most important classical music festivals in the world. His performance was a huge success, and he was invited back to the festival the following year. Over the next few years, Faller continued to perform at major festivals and concert halls around the world, including Carnegie Hall in New York, the Royal Albert Hall in London, and the Berlin Philharmonic. He also recorded several critically acclaimed albums, including a collection of Beethoven sonatas that was praised for its "intense emotional power and technical brilliance." In 2015, Faller was awarded the prestigious International Classical Music Award for his recording of Chopin's complete works for piano. The award was a major milestone in Faller's career and cemented his reputation as one of the greatest pianists of his generation. Despite his success, Faller remained humble and dedicated to his craft. He continued to practice for hours every day, always striving to improve his technique and interpretation of the music he played. Tragically, Faller's career was cut short when he was diagnosed with a rare form of cancer in 2018. He underwent several rounds of treatment, but ultimately succumbed to the disease in 2019, at the age of 34. Faller's death was a huge loss to the classical music world, and he was mourned by fans and colleagues around the world. His legacy, however, lives on through his recordings and the memories of those who were lucky enough to hear him play.
