Edward Trybek was born on May 12, 1985, in Warsaw, Poland. He grew up in a family of musicians, with his father being a professional violinist and his mother a pianist. From a young age, Trybek showed a natural talent for music and began playing the piano at the age of four. Trybek's parents recognized his potential and enrolled him in the Frederic Chopin Music School in Warsaw, where he received formal training in piano performance. He quickly excelled in his studies and began participating in local competitions, winning his first competition at the age of seven. In 1996, Trybek's family moved to the United States, where he continued his musical education at the Juilliard School in New York City. He studied under the tutelage of renowned pianist Emanuel Ax and graduated with a Bachelor of Music degree in 2007. After graduating from Juilliard, Trybek began performing professionally, both as a soloist and as a member of various chamber ensembles. He quickly gained a reputation as a talented and versatile pianist, with a particular affinity for the works of Frederic Chopin. In 2010, Trybek won first prize at the International Chopin Piano Competition in Warsaw, one of the most prestigious piano competitions in the world. His performance of Chopin's Piano Concerto No. 1 in E minor was praised for its technical precision and emotional depth. Following his victory at the Chopin Competition, Trybek's career took off. He began performing with major orchestras around the world, including the New York Philharmonic, the London Symphony Orchestra, and the Berlin Philharmonic. He also released several critically acclaimed recordings, including a complete cycle of Chopin's piano works. In addition to his performing career, Trybek is also a dedicated teacher. He has taught masterclasses at universities and conservatories around the world, and has served as a faculty member at the Juilliard School and the Curtis Institute of Music. Throughout his career, Trybek has received numerous awards and honors for his contributions to classical music. In 2015, he was awarded the Order of Merit of the Republic of Poland, one of the highest honors bestowed by the Polish government. He has also been named a Steinway Artist, an honor reserved for the world's most accomplished pianists. Despite his many accomplishments, Trybek remains humble and dedicated to his craft. He continues to perform and teach, always striving to improve his skills and share his love of music with others.
