Per Thunarf was born on May 12, 1985, in Stockholm, Sweden. He grew up in a family of musicians, with his father being a renowned pianist and his mother a violinist. From a young age, Per showed a keen interest in music and began playing the piano at the age of four. Per's parents recognized his talent and encouraged him to pursue a career in music. He began taking piano lessons with his father and quickly developed his skills. By the age of ten, Per had already won several local piano competitions and was gaining recognition as a prodigious young talent. In 1997, Per was accepted into the prestigious Royal College of Music in Stockholm, where he studied under the tutelage of renowned pianist and pedagogue, Professor Lars Sellergren. There, he studied under the guidance of renowned pianist and pedagogue, Professor Yoheved Kaplinsky. During his time at Juilliard, Per continued to develop his skills and gained valuable experience performing in some of the most prestigious concert halls in the world. Per's talent and hard work continued to be recognized, and he was awarded several major prizes and awards throughout his career. In 2005, he won the International Piano Competition in Moscow, one of the most prestigious piano competitions in the world. This victory cemented his reputation as one of the most talented young pianists of his generation. Over the years, Per has performed with some of the world's leading orchestras, including the New York Philharmonic, the London Symphony Orchestra, and the Berlin Philharmonic. He has also collaborated with many of the world's leading conductors, including Daniel Barenboim, Simon Rattle, and Valery Gergiev. Per's repertoire is vast and includes works by some of the greatest composers in history, including Bach, Beethoven, Chopin, and Rachmaninoff. He is known for his technical brilliance, his deep understanding of the music he plays, and his ability to connect with audiences on an emotional level. In addition to his performing career, Per is also a dedicated teacher and mentor.
