Vittorio Buccini was born on May 12, 1985, in Rome, Italy. He was born into a family of musicians, with his father being a renowned pianist and his mother a violinist. From a young age, Vittorio showed a keen interest in music and began playing the piano at the age of four. He was a prodigious talent and quickly gained recognition for his exceptional musical abilities. Vittorio's parents recognized his talent and encouraged him to pursue a career in music. He began taking formal piano lessons at the age of six and quickly progressed through the ranks. By the age of ten, he had already won several local and regional piano competitions. In 1997, Vittorio was accepted into the prestigious Conservatorio di Santa Cecilia in Rome, where he studied under the tutelage of renowned pianist and teacher, Sergio Perticaroli. During his time at the conservatory, Vittorio honed his skills and developed a deep understanding of classical music. In 2003, Vittorio graduated from the conservatory with top honors and was awarded a scholarship to study at the Juilliard School in New York City. He spent the next four years studying under the guidance of some of the world's most renowned pianists, including Emanuel Ax and Yoheved Kaplinsky. During his time at Juilliard, Vittorio gained a reputation as one of the most promising young pianists of his generation. He won several prestigious awards, including the Gina Bachauer Piano Competition and the Van Cliburn International Piano Competition. In 2007, Vittorio made his debut at Carnegie Hall, performing Rachmaninoff's Piano Concerto No. 2 with the New York Philharmonic. The performance was a resounding success, and Vittorio received a standing ovation from the audience. Over the next few years, Vittorio continued to perform at some of the world's most prestigious concert halls, including the Royal Albert Hall in London, the Berlin Philharmonic, and the Sydney Opera House. He also collaborated with some of the world's most renowned conductors, including Daniel Barenboim, Zubin Mehta, and Valery Gergiev. In 2012, Vittorio released his debut album, featuring works by Chopin, Liszt, and Rachmaninoff. The album was a critical and commercial success, and Vittorio was praised for his virtuosic playing and deep understanding of the music. In addition to his performing career, Vittorio is also a dedicated teacher and mentor. He has taught masterclasses at some of the world's leading music schools, including the Royal Academy of Music in London and the Conservatoire de Paris. Throughout his career, Vittorio has received numerous awards and accolades for his contributions to classical music. In 2015, he was awarded the prestigious Avery Fisher Career Grant, which recognizes outstanding young musicians who show great potential for a major career in music. Today, Vittorio continues to perform and record, and he remains one of the most sought-after pianists of his generation.
