The William Jewell College Concert Choir is a renowned classical music ensemble that has been captivating audiences with their exceptional performances for over 80 years. The choir was founded in 1937 by Dr. Robert E. Brown, who served as the director for 25 years. Since then, the choir has been led by several distinguished conductors, including Dr. Anthony Maglione, Dr. James A. Neal, and Dr. Anthony J. Maglione. The choir is composed of approximately 50 students from William Jewell College, a private liberal arts college located in Liberty, Missouri. The choir is known for its exceptional vocal talent, which is honed through rigorous training and practice. The choir's repertoire includes a wide range of classical music, including works by Bach, Mozart, Beethoven, and Brahms, as well as contemporary pieces by living composers. Over the years, the William Jewell College Concert Choir has performed at some of the most prestigious venues in the United States and abroad. The choir has performed at Carnegie Hall in New York City, the Kennedy Center in Washington, D.C., and the Vatican in Rome. The choir has also toured extensively throughout Europe, performing in countries such as Germany, Austria, and the Czech Republic. One of the highlights of the choir's performance history was their appearance at the 1984 World's Fair in New Orleans. The choir performed a series of concerts at the fair, showcasing their exceptional vocal talent to audiences from around the world. The choir's performance at the fair was widely praised, and it helped to establish the choir as one of the premier classical music ensembles in the United States. In addition to their performances, the William Jewell College Concert Choir has also received numerous awards and accolades over the years. The choir has won several prestigious competitions, including the International Eisteddfod in Llangollen, Wales, and the Florilege Vocal de Tours in Tours, France. The choir has also been recognized for their exceptional recordings, including their album "Lux Aeterna," which was nominated for a Grammy Award in 2010.
